Tyler’s first sight of illegal aliens exiting a trailer on his land runs tells his mom about some “Indians” trespassing on their land. Tyler has been brought up a law abiding citizen, and is torn between wanting to help the illegal aliens, saving the farm, and turning them in. I.C.E. agents come in and take some the three adults and the little girls are hidden and protected by Tyler’s family. The oldest Maria befriends Tyler and they help protect them. They end up going home to Mexico and Tyler decides to see the positive and leases the farm to the uncle, but name the farm Stars and Swallows, after Maria.
Unexpected insight; was Tyler and the community where he lives decides to help the illegal immigrant and have compassion for another human being. Dialogue; When Maria is sharing her information, it is done in letters and her diary which show her character.
